Salary range: $68,682 - $70,000
Role Summary
Assists in design, development, and troubleshooting of software and applications in support of establishing a sustainable institutional technological infrastructure.
Examples of Work Performed
- Monitor and troubleshoot ProSAM and the financial aid daily operation.
- Install updates to ProSAM whenever they are released by Sigma Systems.
- Write and modify BASH scripts on the ProSAM Linux server.
- Write and modify Java, Javascript, and JSP for the FA Office’s web applications.
- Maintain department webpage finaid.olemiss.edu using Wordpress.
- Research financial aid processing problems as requested by financial aid advisors.
- Write and maintain Tableau reports.
- Write ad hoc reports (using SQL run against the ProSAM database) as requested by financial aid advisors.
- Complete national surveys (like IPEDS, US News, Common Data Set, Peterson’s).
- Fulfill data requests from IHL, IREP, various academic departments, and the Enrollment Management Division.
- Purchase, install, monitor, and troubleshoot the department PCs and printers.

Work on the Banner implementation project.
Essential Functions
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
1. Tests and debugs programs, prepares systems test data.
2. Maintains and troubleshoots applications, systems or websites.
3. Prepares program documentation.
4. Develops or modifies technical specifications for projects using disciplined software development.
5. Reviews application design specifications and makes enhancements to existing applications accessible under Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and collaborating with User Experience (UX) Design professionals to ensure compliance.
