What We Seek:

The University of New Mexico Foundation is seeking a talented professional to implement a comprehensive major gift development program to support the Harwood Museum of Art of the University of New Mexico. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director of the Harwood Museum of Art, the Vice President of Central Development at the UNM Foundation, and museum staff andvolunteers to identify and cultivate prospects, develop strategies leading to solicitation, and steward major donors. The Foundation’s development officers play a vital role in UNM’s comprehensive campaign to raise over $1B for philanthropic initiatives over the course of a decade.


Harwood Museum of Art is located in Taos, New Mexico. Founded in 1923 , it is the second oldest art museum in New Mexico and occupies historic buildings on Ledoux Street. Its collections include a wide range of Hispanic works and visual arts from the Taos Society of Artists, Taos Moderns, and contemporary artists. The museum’s collections and exhibitions tell a comprehensive story of art in Taos and Northern New Mexico. What We Require:

Excellent communication skills and the ability to research, identify, cultivate, solicit, collaborate, and steward major donors and prospects including individuals, corporations, and foundations, through face-to-face visits and other forms of direct personal contact in accordance with performance targets set by the UNM Foundation and at levels defined by the Foundation. The chosen mission-driven candidate will contribute to the overall success of the Foundation by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


What We Prefer:

The team would prefer a degreed high performer with at least three years of related or directly transferable experience that would carry over into the necessary skillset, collaboration, and curiosity required to meet strategic goals and fundraising efforts to support the Harwood Museum of Art.


Compensation Salary Range

$80,000 - $95,000

Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
