The National Resource Center for Youth Services (NRCYS) at the University of Oklahoma (OU) has been improving the effectiveness of human services for over 50 years. NRCYS provides training and technical assistance to programs in Oklahoma and nationally. Specializing in training and consultation, NRCYS is a leader in youth service philosophy, best practices, and youth engagement.
Position Summary
This position monitors, coordinates, and directs the day-to-day obligations and personnel to ensure efficient and effective service delivery and operations directly related to the implementation of assigned projects and programs; uses independent judgment within the framework of the projects and programs and established policies in decisions affecting agency activities; and makes recommendations and assists in the formulation of agency objectives, policies, and plans.
A significant focus of this position will be generating new customers and coordinating the fee-based training efforts of the NRCYS on a national level. This position also meets critical tasks associated with the OU Child Welfare Training Collaborative through a sponsored program agreement with the state of Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) to provide child welfare new Specialist training.
Duties
- Supervise staff as assigned to oversee the implementation of projects and programs. Communicate clearly and directly with assigned staff concerning performance expectations, productivity, and accountability in implementing projects and programs. Meet with staff a minimum of two times per month.
- Develop and communicate current policy and procedures through meetings and training.
- Plan, implement, analyze, and evaluate projects, programs, fee-based training services, and agency operations, goals, and outcomes.
- Communicate, strategize, collaborate, and plan with contractors, other programs, and stakeholders on current trends, best practices, and program / training development through meetings, telephone, and email correspondence.
- Facilitate communication with potential and existing customers to provide information and generate proposals for new business for the organization's fee-based activities, including training, projects, and product sales.
- Facilitate and oversee the creation of new training and updates of core training and certification offerings of NRCYS.
- Facilitate and coordinate the development of new NRCYS trainers to deliver new and core training and certification offerings of NRCYS.
- Plan and facilitate activities, training, and capacity-building technical assistance that support state and national initiatives of NRCYS.
- Coordinate and oversee efforts for selecting, supervising, training, coaching, and evaluating program supervisors, trainers, and staff.
- Plan and attend meetings (internal and external) to include but not be limited to NRCYS Executive Management Team (EMT) Meetings, NRCYS Staff Meetings, NRCYS Leadership Meetings, Contract / Project Meetings with funders, and University meetings as needed.
- Monitor and enhance the knowledge base on national and other states' best practice initiatives to make informed decisions and recommendations regarding the ongoing management and improvement of projects, programs, and agency initiatives.
- Collect and analyze data. Write reports. Utilize data to inform decision-making to benefit specific projects, programs, and agency initiatives.
- Uphold, safeguard, and engage in activities to support the University's mission, NRCYS vision, mission, values, and core principles.
