Job Description Summary
Penn Dental Medicine's (PDM) Director of Digital Dentistry & Transformation is responsible for developing and executing strategies which drive the School's CAD / CAM digital dentistry initiatives. The successful candidate will be adept at conceptualizing the overarching digital dentistry landscape, delving into key insights, developing and executing effective strategies, and building out initiatives. The Director will take the lead in steering the organizations' digital transformation journey and strategy across pertinent channels.

Job Responsibilities
- Digital Transformation - 60%
- Provide strategic vision, leadership, and direction for department's digital dentistry initiatives.
- Integrate and align the department's goals with the overall School's goals to drive growth.
- Ensure the appropriate team, tools, and resources are in place and available to support current workflows and anticipated growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of efforts.
- Ensure team members have the information, tools, and resources necessary to meet the goals.
- Develop processes and reports for managing and monitoring growth as well as workflows. Establish key objectives, metrics and success criteria for department activities to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of department initiatives.
- Conduct and analyze customer research while maintaining a strong understanding of the digital dentistry landscape for tracking market trends, able to provide recommendations as appropriate.
Digital Dentistry Lab - 30%
Other duties as assigned - 10%
Qualifications
BA / BS is required; minimum of 5 years dental technology, dental machinist, or related experience.
Experience in higher education strongly preferred.
Must have extensive knowledge, skill and understanding of latest development in digital technologies as well as traditional and digital approaches to restorative dentistry.
Experience in manufacturing ceramic dental restorations; developing and maintaining mechanical dental equipment and systems; working with programmable controls, machine tools, and machining technology, using CAD / CAM and related design software; developing and testing specialized machine tool systems; and providing dental technology training to dentists and dental technicians.
Project management experience in digital and dental technology a plus.
