The primary role of the Research Specialist is to perform molecular assays for concussion diagnostic tests and changes in the brain during concussion recovery. Is responsible for working with collaborating laboratories to learn new methods, performing technically complex experiments, data acquisition and analysis, and maintains data records. Participate in the writing of funding proposals, abstracts and papers.
Position is contingent on continued funding.

Job Responsibilities
- Perform biofluid testing and molecular assays.
- Collect, analyze and interpret data, identify options for future studies, present summaries, and prepare reports of the findings.
- Maintain data log books, protocol books, inventory of lab supplies, and general maintenance of equipment.
- Perform routine lab jobs (such as autoclaving supplies, stocking supplies).
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, good organizational and communication skills, good work ethic; ability to work independently with attention to detail.
Preferred : Lab experience handling in cell culture, microbiology, molecular biology or physiology, experience tabulating and plotting data with Excel. Computer programming experience preferred.
