Post Doctoral Associate (Ng)
A postdoctoral appointment is available for a project focused on Toxicological Evaluation of Multiple Stressor on Kidney Development with Dr. Carla Ng's Research Group at the University of Pittsburgh in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in collaboration with Dr. Alison Sanders in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health.
We seek a highly motivated person to lead a project using the zebrafish model to understand multiple stressor impacts on kidney development, with a particular focus on per and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), metals, and climate change. The successful applicant will possess a PhD in civil and environmental engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, or related fields, have an excellent academic record, and work well in a collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment. The candidate should have completed the Ph.D. prior to the date of joining. The project involves analyzing data on bioaccumulation, gene expression changes, and morphological effects, along with manuscript preparation.
The appointment will be three months with the possibility for an extension based on performance. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
Qualifications: an earned doctorate (PhD degree) in Environmental Engineering or a closely related field. Experience with zebrafish husbandry and toxicological assays. Experience with gene expression (qPCR, sequencing data analysis) is highly preferred.
