The Department of Political Science at the University of South Dakota invites applicants for a tenure-track position as assistant professor of political science in international relations and/or comparative politics. This is a nine-month, full-time appointment.
Responsibilities
Given the department’s strong commitment to teaching and mentoring, the department enjoys major endowments that support student internships and travel; faculty research; and professional development.
The start date will be August 22, 2025.

Responsibilities
- Teach general coursework in political science. The expected workload will be six courses per academic year.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and student mentoring within the context of a strong liberal arts program.
- Share in the work of a vibrant department and apply their professional expertise in the service of the university, community and discipline.
- Ph.D. in Political Science, or a related field on the date of appointment.
