The Budget and Financial Services Specialist participates as a partner to the university departments and is a resource for strategic decision making of the departments they serve.
The position will support the AVP and Director of Budget with forecasting and rolling financials of various departments.
The position will serve as lead point of contact for financial forecasting and analysis efforts of Financial Affairs staff.
The position supervises the development and execution of various budget requests and operating budget processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and departmental understanding of budget and fund sources.
The position directs the preparation of financial statements for complex business entities within the University of South Dakota to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
The position participates in central budget office tasks specifically relating to year-end tasks, salary policy & authority analysis among other duties.
The position is responsible for approval of departmental budget and financial information prior to final review and approval of the Director of Budget and Finance.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field is required.
Experience with BOR and USD budget processes required.
Knowledge of fund accounting required.
