The University of South Dakota’s Office of the Registrar is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Division I Compliance Officer. The position is responsible for determining eligibility of student athletes per all applicable University, Conference, NCAA & BOR policies & procedures.
The incumbent with devise and implement information management systems to collect, track, process and report eligibility and other related academic data and to facilitate the making of compliance decisions.
First priority will be to use the tools available in Banner, and in NCAA’s Compliance Assistant internet (CAi) and Academic Performance Program (APP), Internet-based software programs for the electronic management and reporting of academic performance data required by NCAA Bylaw 23 for all Division I institutions.
Monitor all of USD’s 500 student athletes for compliance with all NCAA Division I academic eligibility requirements including minimum credit hour requirements, minimum GPA requirements, progress toward degree thresholds (essentially a degree audit for all athletes), etc. -Prepare transfer evaluations for potential and future transfers
Work with the Athletics Compliance Officer and the Athletic Academic Advisor to insure that all regulations are being complied with.
Learning and having a thorough understanding of all applicable NCAA, BOR, and USD requirements so that we are in complete compliance.
