USD is seeking an IT Engineer to provide support to install, program, test, and maintain infrastructure systems at the University of South Dakota. The successful candidate will support hardware and software needs for the campus, work with vendors to specify hardware and software solutions and recommend enhancements to campus infrastructure and resources. This position includes on-call responsibilities. This is a 100% full time position, on campus in Vermillion, SD.Duties include working with a variety of network services, security systems, email services, directory services, configuration management products, storage systems, virtualization products, cloud services, load balancing systems, and web systems.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Responsible for
- Daily service requests, break / fix work
- Ensuring clear documentation is created and maintained for all infrastructure services
- Monitoring performance and availability of infrastructure systems
- Accurate inventory maintenance
- Documenting test plans and their outcomes
