Purpose
The Project Manager supports, manages, and executes the life cycle of multiple short- and long-term projects ensuring excellence in all aspects of service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Manages end-to-end operational tactical aspects of cross-unit projects including distance course development and redevelopment and other projects of varying in size, scope, business impact, and risk. Creates and maintains quality project documentation and assets. Advises and provides solutions on continuous and functional process improvement opportunities, efficiencies, and cross-team reporting mechanisms.
- Evaluates assigned projects and plans utilizing standard Project Management Methodology. Effectively communicates and consults with project sponsors and project contributors to ensure fidelity, consistency, and alignment of the methodology for successful project delivery and implementation.
- Recognizes, identifies, and anticipates problematic situations, magnify and mitigate risks and impact, makes sound decisions, takes corrective action for issue resolution. Collaborates with project sponsors and project teams to evaluate and resolve conflicts to produce successful outcomes.
- Develops, strengthens, and cultivates effective working relationships with project sponsors and teams to ensure cross-team communication, transparency, consistency, and successful achievement of project goals and outcomes.
- Advises and provides solutions on continuous and functional process improvement opportunities, efficiencies, and cross-team reporting mechanisms to impact distance learning offerings.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Five years of experience in project or program management in an enterprise or educational environment.
- Demonstrated success at leading multiple projects concurrently under pressure of deadlines and evolving requirements and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated strong customer ideas, processes, and requirements.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience creating project documentation, including process mapping, schedules, budgets, communication plans, and test plans.
- Able to work effectively both independently and rapidly to adapt to change in high-pressure environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree.
- More than five years of experience managing projects in an enterprise or educational environment.
- Experience with Project Management Tools, such as Smartsheet, Learning Management Systems, Canvas, Human Resources Systems, Workday.
- Two or more years of experience working in Event Planning and Management.
