Job Summary
Role of the Vice Provost for Academic Success and Innovation
The Vice Provost for Academic Success and Innovation is a key leadership position in the Office of the Provost responsible for overseeing academic and administrative areas that support the institution’s educational mission. This role demands a strategic leader who can manage multiple initiatives aimed at enhancing student and faculty success, as well as fostering strong relationships within and outside the University.
Professional Qualifications and Personal Qualities
The successful candidate must hold a doctoral degree and have significant experience in higher education administration, particularly in academic affairs. Additionally, candidates must have proven their ability to lead and manage complex projects and initiatives.
Additionally, the successful candidate should have :
- A forward-looking, holistic understanding of faculty success and student success across undergraduate and graduate programs.
- A willingness to innovate, encourage experimentation across campus, and scale successful initiatives.
- Experience leveraging new technologies to enhance faculty and student outcomes.
- An understanding of the evolving higher education environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to coordinate academic initiatives across a large and complex campus.
Key responsibilities of the Vice Provost include :
The Vice Provost for Academic Success and Innovation is a newly created position, and this individual may be asked to take on other responsibilities as assigned by the Provost based upon the evolving needs of the University.
