The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) invites nominations, applications, and expressions of interest in its search for a strategic leader to serve as its inaugural Vice Provost for Academic Success and Innovation.
The Vice Provost is a key leadership position in the Office of the Provost responsible for overseeing academic and administrative areas that support the institution's educational mission, including the AccessAbility Resource Center, Center for Teaching and Learning, and Educational Technology Services, among others. This individual will serve on university-wide committees, including chairing the student success working group, and act as a liaison and partner with academic affairs units across campus. The Vice Provost for Academic Success and Innovation is a newly created position, and this individual may be asked to take on other responsibilities as assigned by the Provost based upon the evolving needs of the University as well as the skills, experiences, and interests of the successful candidate.
The Vice Provost should have a forward-looking, holistic understanding of faculty success and student success across undergraduate and graduate programs and an ability to enhance student learning in the classroom and outside of the classroom. This individual should be highly collaborative and innovative, demonstrating an understanding of trends in higher education and an ability to work with others to evaluate and implement new ideas. The successful candidate must hold a doctoral degree and have significant experience in higher education administration, particularly in academic affairs. In addition, candidates must have proven their ability to lead and manage complex projects and initiatives.
