Purpose of Position
Manages the development (planning, programming, and completion) of technical projects including leading systems analysts in that development, offering and leading strategies for new program initiatives, participates in and supervises the planning and programming of new projects, maintains systems already in production, provides a customer service role for clients and customers using production systems, attends department meetings related to project development and maintenance of production systems.
Essential Functions
Computer Support and Troubleshoot of New or Existing Equipment
- Coordinate computer and network drives access for first-time users
- Responsible for configuration / installation of hardware and software
- Provide solutions to end-user computer and networking problems of moderate to complex nature to ensure end-user productivity
- Perform restorative and maintenance actions to resolve technology problems, using basic troubleshooting and technical skills
- Research, evaluate, and provide guidance on technology requirements to ensure it meets the established standards for the institution
- Plan, install, configure, and optimize the IT infrastructure effectively to meet the center's high-performance requirements
- Coordinate local and remote network equipment testing
- Select staff and providing work assignments
- Direct the work of information technology personnel, setting priorities, and coordinating department activities
- Evaluate and verify employee performances through performance evaluation techniques

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree is required and five years of experience in systems design, analysis and programming or High School Diploma / GED and 8 years of experience

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to a minimum of 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
A background check will be conducted on candidates under final consideration.
