Job Description
The Educational Technologist – Testing Services provides supervision, guidance, support, and direction for the Main Campus Testing Center under the guidance of the Associate Director of Help Desk and Educational Support. This position provides on-site support for computer-based and computer-assisted proctored tests with a heavy focus on technologies supported by UToledo Online, along with publisher content, subject-specific software, and publisher content. In addition, this position offers consultations and creates comprehensive documentation for faculty in the use of testing technologies in online, hybrid, and proctored settings. The position also assists with the administration of accessibility accommodations in testing.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/experience/licensing
Minimum Qualifications:
- Required: Master’s degree related to Educational Technology, Instructional Systems Technology, Computer Science
- Experience in end-user technology support and consulting with faculty about teaching with technology in online, blended, and face-to-face environments is strongly desired.
- Familiarity with assistive technology and/or the use of technology to provide accessibility accommodations is beneficial.
- Managerial experience is strongly desired.
- Knowledge of best practices in teaching and learning is strongly desired.
- Experience using online and classroom technologies is strongly desired.
- Previous experience with using and/or supporting Blackboard Learn or other learning management systems (LMSs), publisher content, and/or LockDown Browser or other proctoring software to administer computer-based tests is strongly desired.
- Experience with web browsers, word processing programs, email programs, and Windows operating systems is required; Experience with Mac and mobile operating systems is beneficial.
- One to two years of previous teaching experience, preferably in higher education is beneficial.
- Experience using and mentoring others in the use of classroom technologies is beneficial.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a support team.
- Ability to communicate technical problems to others with varying levels of computer competency.
- Ability to handle assistance requests with multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Must have strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work effectively with people at all levels within the organization.
- Willingness to explore the use of technology to advance learner-centeredness in online, hybrid, and web-assisted courses.
