The University of Vermont Health Network offers a 10-week paid learning opportunity for nursing students who are within one year of their anticipated graduation from an accredited RN program.
Through a mentoring relationship with a Registered Nurse, student nurse externs can enhance their clinical skills by providing direct care and practicing within the scope of a clinical assistant.
The externship includes observational learning experiences, working one-on-one with an RN mentor/preceptor.
Qualifications include entering senior year of an accredited AAS or BSN Nursing Program, providing a letter of recommendation from a nursing faculty member, and having a current BLS card.
Additional requirements include being in good academic standing and availability for the duration of the program.
This is a per diem employee opportunity with some scheduling flexibility.
