JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for accurate, correct routine and stat tissue processing including embedment, microtomy, mounting, and staining. Performs routine and special histology including advanced immunocytochemical and histochemical testing. Recognizes procedural, instrument and quality control problems and notifies Charge Histotechnolgist. Follows guidelines to correct problems or errors. Prepares reagents, stains and solutions according to guidelines.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor Degree in an appropriate science field and Histotechnican HT(ASCP) , HTL (ASCP) certified, or eligible in 1 year.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Experience: Prefer 1 year in Histology Lab comparable to UVMMC.
Wages:
Wages posted are for the Histotechnologist role and will be modified for a Histotechnician accordingly.
SIGN ON BONUS:
External candidates are eligible for a $7,500 sign on bonus. Current employees of the UVM Medical Center and its affiliates are not eligible for this bonus. Additional terms and conditions apply.
