Job Description
Responsible for accurate routine and stat tissue processing, including embedment, microtomy, mounting, staining and labeling. Performs routine and special histology processing including advanced histochemical and immunohistochemical testing. Offers guidance to Histotechnicians and support staff in routine technical areas and serves as a resource person. Recognizes procedural, instrument, and quality control problems and notifies Charge Histotechnologist, R&D technician or Chief Technologist. Follows guidelines to correct problems or errors.
Education
Associates Degree in an appropriate science field and certification as a Histotechnician, HT(ASCP).
Experience
Three years in a Histology Laboratory similar to FAHC
