Posting Summary

In the Office of Student Services ( OSS ), provide general advice and guidance to numerous stakeholders. Serve as first point-of-contact, confidential, and sometimes complex and crisis management communications. Coordinate front office operations, student success reporting and metrics, record-keeping, and support events. Provide general guidance to students, faculty, and staff; serve as support to Assistant Dean. Serve as program resource and as liaison with internal and external constituents; interpret information, provide procedural, program and referral guidance and assistance to students related to academic, personal, internship or career opportunities and issues.

Serve as an academic advisor for a small cohort of students. Oversee and make recommendations for various marketing, social media, and data / systems management functions. Work within the OSS team to help advance student success, inclusive excellence, and enrollment management functions. Give public presentations on CESS academic programs, and work on specialized program-specific projects.

Represent and adhere to numerous University and CESS deadlines, policies, and procedures. Supervise up to four UG students. Report directly to the Assistant Dean for Strategic Initiatives, Diversity, and Engagement. Provide the Assistant Dean and the OSS team with support for ad hoc and co-coordination of academic transition projects, major events, formalized data tracking and reporting, liaising with the Registrar's office, and committee work. Serve as team lead or co-lead for various projects and programs.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Bachelor's Degree and two to four years of relevant experience which may include involvement with student success services, enrollment management activities, academic programs, event coordination, and liaising with the public. Proficiencies with data management, spreadsheets, reports, marketing, social media platforms, and software applications to support administrative functions required. Effective organizational, interpersonal, public presentation and oral and written communication skills required. Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and organize multiple tasks to coordinate projects and events. Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively in a team environment required. Demonstrated commitment to helping advance diversity and inclusion priorities.

Desirable Qualifications

Prior experience with providing direct, student-centered advising preferred. Work experience centered within diverse communities preferred.

Anticipated Pay Range

25-$27 per hour

Special Conditions

Occasional evening and / or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, Bargaining unit position, After this week, position posted until filled, This position is ineligible for telework due to the essential functions
