SUMMARY Overview of the position
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Durham, North Carolina. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and a passion for ensuring efficient transportation and distribution processes. This role is essential in maintaining the smooth operation of our supply chain, ensuring timely deliveries, and effective communication between suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The following statements are intended to describe the general nature of the level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned.
- Coordinate and manage the daily logistics operations, including scheduling and overseeing shipments, transportation, and deliveries.
- Communicate with carriers and other partners to ensure efficient and cost-effective logistics operations.
- Prepare and maintain necessary shipping and transportation documentation, including bills of lading, customs documents, and invoices.
- Track and manage shipments from origin to destination, resolving any issues that may arise during transit.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth coordination of logistics activities.
- Assist with the management of returns, damages, or discrepancies in deliveries.
- Other duties as assigned.
INTERACTION
This position will interact closely with the Sr. Logistics Coordinator, Warehouse Manager, Sr. Manager of Logistics, Sales Support Team, Inventory Specialist, and Project Managers.
EDUCATION/YEARS EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Logistics Coordination roles required.
- Proven experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain coordination.
- Strong understanding of supply chain operations and transportation procedures.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Strong understanding of supply chain operations and transportation procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices in logistics.
- Familiarity with logistics software, inventory management systems, and tools for tracking shipments and deliveries (e.g., SAP, TMS, WMS), and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail in managing logistics documentation, inventory records, shipment tracking, and compliance.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team to achieve shared goals.
- Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds
- Prior lead or supervisory experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
- This position may require occasional weekend work.
