Dog Walker

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Walker to join our team. In this role, you will be driving to homes in the Vancouver area and are responsible for providing high-quality care and exercise for dogs in our community. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to manage multiple dogs safely during walks. A dependable car is important, with a good handle on time management. This position is perfect for individuals looking to work with animals in a dynamic environment. We do background checks on all canditates

Duties

• Walk dogs of various sizes and breeds, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Maintain control of dogs during walks, utilizing proper handling techniques to prevent any incidents.
• Monitor the behavior and health of each dog, reporting any concerns to the owner or supervisor.
• Provide basic training commands during walks to reinforce good behavior.
• Ensure that all dogs are properly hydrated and take breaks as needed.
• Clean up after dogs during walks and maintain a clean environment.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog's behavior and needs.
• Assist with additional animal care tasks as needed, including feeding or administering medication.

Skills

• Strong experience in dog handling and training techniques is essential.
• Knowledge of animal care practices, including veterinary assistance and animal restraint methods.
• Familiarity with equine care is a plus but not required.
• Ability to manage multiple animals safely in various environments.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
• A compassionate attitude towards animals, demonstrating patience and understanding in all situations.
• Previous experience as a veterinary technician or assistant is advantageous but not mandatory.

Pay: $17.50 - $18.00 per hour
