JOB TITLE: Child Care Worker
DEPARTMENT: Room Board and Watchful Oversight (RBWO)
SUPERVISOR: Program Supervisor
PAY SCALE: Hourly
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
At least twenty-one (21) years of age, valid Georgia driver’s license, able to pass fingerprinting background check, high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of previous experience working with children.

Our programs include a community-based mental and behavioral health clinic serving six counties, an after school resiliency clubhouse that serves Thomas County children and youth, and a residential care program for teens in custody of the state of Georgia. General Description:
The Child Care Worker(CCW) assures that the basic needs of the consumers in care are met and provides necessary supervision and individual attention. The CCW serves as a role model, and procedures of the program of care. Other duties of the CCW includes but are not limited to maintaining cottage cleanliness, participation in recreational activities and transportation of consumers in care.
SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists other staff in all aspects of day to day care
2. Implements structure and rules through supervision and guidance of consumers
3. Participates in the development and implementation of the treatment plan by understanding the consumer’s diagnosis
4. Administers and records medications to consumers in accordance with agency policies and procedures
5. Assists new consumers in becoming familiar with the RBWO program
6. Provides transportation of consumers as directed by supervisor
7. Assists staff in developing solutions to individual or cottage wide problems
8. Maintains cottage cleanliness and structure as outlined in the cottage inspection form
9. Participates in physical restraints of consumers when necessary
10. Works in a team relationship with supervisors and other CCWs
11. Participates in consumer recreational activities on and off the cottage
12. Completes necessary documentation thoroughly and as directed by supervisor
13. Reinforces the positive behaviors of consumers in care
14. Remains calm and therapeutic in tense situations
15. Structures and supervises the laundry time
16. Consistently works posted schedule without call-ins, tardiness, or early quits
17. Cooperates with schedule changes and is available to work in a crisis or when other Child Care Workers staff are unable to work their posted schedule
18. Follows appropriate protocol when unable to work posted schedule
19. Demonstrates a professional attitude through dress, demeanor and communication

Each staff member should have 24 hours of training not to include Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention or CPR/First Aid.
