Leadership and Process Management:

Supervise the packaging staff, setting clear job expectations, and monitoring workflow, productivity, and efficiency.

Manage staff recruitment, selection, orientation, and training, and foster opportunities for personal growth and cross-training.
Quality Control and Compliance:

Maintain product workflow and quality by overseeing all stages of the packaging process; optimize process steps to ensure the highest quality standards.

Ensure strict adherence to organizational standards, and maintain a safe, clean work environment in compliance with policies and procedures.

Audit the quality and weight of products, implementing continuous improvement to align with Verdes standards and strategic goals.
Production and Efficiency Optimization:

Ensure the completion of production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel, monitoring progress and resolving problems efficiently.

Analyze production performance records and data, initiating improvements or optimizations where necessary.

Develop and report on KPIs and establish SMART goals to track and improve packaging department performance.
Loss Prevention and Inventory Management:

Implement strict inventory control measures and surveillance protocols to minimize shrinkage and prevent loss.

Manage the compliant destruction and documentation of returned and non-conforming products.
Innovation and Marketing Collaboration:

Partner with the Marketing team to support promotions and specials; innovate and create new products or packaging solutions that resonate with the Verdes brand.

Stay informed of state-of-the-art practices by participating in educational workshops, professional societies, and by establishing personal networks.?
Equipment and Resource Management:

Oversee the operation of packaging equipment, scheduling repairs, and evaluating new equipment and techniques for potential adoption.

Develop and revise systems and procedures by analyzing current practices and implementing necessary changes.
Team Development and Support:

Resolve personnel issues by analyzing data, investigating issues, and identifying and recommending solutions to improve team dynamics.

Contribute to the overall team effort, ensuring related tasks are completed as required and the packaging department's goals are met.
Continuous Improvement and Team Leadership:

Act as the subject matter expert within the packaging team, leading SOP adherence and seeking continuous improvement for better efficiency.

Communicate consistently with the Manufacturing Manager ensuring the team has all resources and information needed to achieve goals.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, always looking for ways to refine SOPs to align with company SMART goals and objectives.
Computer Responsibilities:

Manage Dutchie in all areas of packaging including inventory accuracy, label printing, UPC Codes/tags, transfer manifests and seed-to-sale controls.
Required Skills and Expertise:

Comprehensive Industry Knowledge: A solid understanding of the supply chain, encompassing harvest, post-harvest processes, product conversions, and transportation logistics.

Leadership Excellence: Demonstrated leadership abilities that inspire team engagement, instill pride in workmanship, and drive focus towards process efficiencies.

Technological Proficiency: Strong command of computers and familiarity with industry-specific software programs such as Dutchie, BarTender Inc., Microsoft Office, SharePoint, LeafLink etc., to streamline operations.

Communication Mastery: Outstanding communication skills, with proficiency in both verbal and written forms, ensuring clarity and understanding across all levels of the organization.

Detail Orientation: Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring that all aspects of packaging and distribution are performed with precision and care.

Physical and Emotional Requirements:

Must be able to stand for long periods of time, 6 – 7 hours multiple days in a row.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree and or equivalent job knowledge.
