What are the responsibilities and job description for the Planning Specialist position at The Vermont Country Store?
Do you have a love of organization and inventory, the ability to prioritize tasks and a knowledge of spreadsheets? Our Planning Specialist role within our Inventory Management team will support the Lead Analyst and/or the Planning Supervisor. The role is responsible for purchasing and managing inventory for multiple business channels to meet strategic goals and objectives.
Location: 5650 Main Street, Manchester Center, Vermont.
Candidates who are residents of VT are eligible to enjoy a hybrid work arrangement, working onsite from our office in Manchester Center, Vermont, and at home. This hybrid position requires in-person work three days per week at 5650 Main Street, Manchester Center, Vermont. All candidates must be within a commutable distance to, and available to work from, our office in Manchester Center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine how to successfully manage inventory and departmental planning parameters to develop buy plans, place orders, and evaluate inventory position
- Develop strong partnerships with vendors to meet all business needs
- Maintain purchase orders and inventory information and reports to ensure timely delivery of merchandise
- Partner with the product team on product issues, history, size assortment, placement of product, and vendor concerns
What you bring:
- High school education is required
- Inventory planning, purchasing, or related experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of spreadsheeting, and Microsoft Suite
- Positive, team-oriented attitude
- Ability to prioritize work
- Flexible and able to make decisions quickly
