What are the responsibilities and job description for the FACILITY ATTENDANT - RECREATION PART-TIME position at THE VILLAGE OF ROYAL PALM BEACH?

Location : RECREATION CENTER located at 100 Sweet Bay Lane
This opening is for a part time individual who can work mainly evenings, weekends, and holidays. The main part of work is indoors inside the Village's Recreation Center, but may on occasion have to work outdoors. The candidate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, frequently bend, twist, stand, walk and kneel.
Main duties include cleaning and monitoring the facility during open gym hours to ensure patrons are able to use the facility in a safe and clean environment. Monitoring of facility includes enforcing rules and regulations specific to the recreation program and communicating to the participants.
Janitorial duties in the facility may consist of removal of trash from all rooms and restrooms, cleaning all areas including kitchens, restrooms, meetings rooms and vacuuming or mopping areas inside the building. Bathrooms must be cleaned and disinfected, toilet bowls, sinks and surrounding surfaces should be cleaned throughout the shift.
Position is to always monitor and replenish supplies such as paper products and soap.
The position is responsible to do complete security checks, locking and securing the facility at time of closing and opens the facility for public use in the mornings.
Individual must be courteous and comfortable communicating with patrons who need assistance during a recreation program or using the building. They are to direct patrons and customers to the proper person for bookings and additional information on rentals or facility use.
On occasion, facility attendant must assist with documenting an accident or assisting a patron/customer with regard to injuries, accidents and or complaints.
The Village is part of the Florida Retirement System, and therefore a mandatory contribution of 3% must be made from the employee for retirement.
