Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Director of Resident Life/Activities located in Fairlawn, OH. The Director will be responsible for overseeing and managing resident life programs and activities on a day-to-day basis, ensuring a supportive and engaging environment for all residents in our Skilled Nursing, Memory Care, Assisted Living and Independent Living.
Qualifications
- Experience in designing and implementing resident life programs and activities
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of aging-related issues and care
- Creativity and innovation in developing new programs
- Ability to collaborate with staff and residents effectively
- Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy, Social Work, Gerontology, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in providing activity services to elderly.
- Activity Director Certified (ADC) through NCCAP, Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) or Certified Therapeutic Recreation Therapist required.
- Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) required or completed within first 6 months.
- 1-3 years of experience in a supervisory position overseeing activities and programming.
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record required
- Able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds independently and over 50 pounds with assistance.
- Possess the ability to bend, stoop and reach at different angles.
- Walk, stand and sit intermittently during the day.
- Must work with residents, families and public on personal and professional basis.
- Availability to work on weekends, evenings, and holidays if needed. Ability to be flexible due to potential of unknowns and rapidly shifting responsibilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and timely outcomes.
- Specific knowledge of Word, Excel and email or the willingness and ability to learn quickly. Use of range of information technology applications to fulfill the requirements of the position, produce necessary reports accurately and timely, and/or improve the functionality of the department as a whole.
- Willingness to learn other software systems
- Knowledge of Point Click Care (PCC) preferred
