Responsibilities: 
The Clinical Resource Team (CRT) Training Coordinator is a non-exempt clinical position responsible for performing clinical assistant duties in a healthcare setting, under the direction of a licensed clinician as the Lead for the clinical resource team. The Clinical Resource Team (CRT) Training Coordinator provides training and clinical support services including but not limited to direct clinician support, patient care functions, and administrative tasks. The Clinical Resource Team (CRT) Training Coordinator will be primarily responsible to train and schedule Clinical Resource Team (CRT) Float members to ensure coverage across the primary care centers but will also be prepared to cover as needed in the laboratory, medical assistant (MA) clinic, and huddles to be able to provide high-quality patient care. The position may require travel between facilities to provide coverage.
  • Trains the Clinical Resource Team (CRT) Float members to and processes incoming and outgoing calls/messages in an independent and professional manner using basic clinical judgement, seeking advice as needed
  • Trains the Clinical Resource Team (CRT) Float members to and performs patient intake, obtains necessary patient information to file and update patient records, and ensure all forms and consents are completed by patients
  • Trains the Clinical Resource Team (CRT) Float members to and performs pre-encounter prep prior to patients visit, including identifying open care gaps
  • Supports and demonstrates effective and professional communication with patients, family members, visitors, and colleagues
  • Trains the Clinical Resource Team (CRT) Float members to and gathers patient data through interview and observation
  • Trains the Clinical Resource Team (CRT) Float members to and assists the clinician during medical treatments, examination, and procedures
  • Trains the Clinical Resource Team (CRT) Float members to and prepares patients for examination, performs and documents vital signs, and records patients' health history and medication reconciliation.
  • Trains the Clinical Resource Team (CRT) Float members to and is able to check-out patients, assist with referral processing, and arranges laboratory and/or other ancillary testing
  • Performs duties and skills consistent with a trained certified medical assistant/registered medical assistant/licensed practical nurse.
  • Trains the Clinical Resource Team (CRT) Float members to and prepares and sanitizes equipment, examination rooms and instruments.
  • Trains the Clinical Resource Team (CRT) Float members to manage inventory of medical supplies and equip exam rooms with appropriate supplies.
  • Embraces and participates in quality initiatives, goal attainment, and collaborates on clinical process improvement activities
  • Trains the Clinical Resource Team (CRT) Float members to provide routine treatments and administer approved medication per clinician order.
  • Trains the Clinical Resource Team (CRT) Float members to document patient data, treatments, procedures, and patient education in accordance with The Villages Health and department specific policies.
  • Trains the Clinical Resource Team (CRT) Float members to assist the clinician by acting as a liaison on behalf of the patient to schedule and provide patient with scheduling information to obtain testing, and/or physician consultation.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Supervisors and Clinical Training Supervisor to provide coverage across the primary care locations of The Villages Health utilizing the Clinical Resource Team (CRT) Float members or by back-filling openings themselves when needed.
  • Collaborates with Clinical Supervisors and Clinical Training Supervisor to provide training opportunities for clinical assistants.
  • Collaborates with Clinical Supervisors and Clinical Training Supervisor to support Clinical Assistant IV and V positions to assist with training in their home care centers.
  • Maintains compliance with all The Villages Health policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates competency in specific tasks and skills as defined by the practice.
  •  Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Experience working within a healthcare setting preferred but not required.
  • CMA/RMA/LPN: Maintains current Medical Assistant certification/registration from an accredited institution or Current nursing license in the State of Florida renewed every two years
  • Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification
  • Assumes responsibility for professional development and continuing education
  • Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and have the ability to assess data appropriate to the age-specific needs of the patients
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology
  • Demonstrates awareness of medical/legal issues, patient rights, and compliance with standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies
  • Knowledge of basic medical assisting skills
  • Knowledge of personal and patient safety practices and adherence to infection control standards outlined in The Villages Health policies
  • The Clinical Resource Team (CRT) Training Coordinator should possess skills consistent with a trained clinical assistant (CMA/RMA/LPN) not limited to but including:
    • Manual vital signs
    • EKG
    • Nebulizer treatments
    • Point of care testing to include but not limited to: PT/INR, glucometer, respiratory screening (Flu/covid/strep), urinalysis (clinitek), monofilament foot testing, IRIS scan, pulmonary function testing (PFT)
    • Phlebotomy and specimen collection and processing
    • IV fluid administration
    • IM/SQ medication administration
    • Intradermal testing
    • Sterile field set-up
    • Pap/pelvic exam set-up with specimen collection and processing
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly organized, with ability to prioritize effectively
  •  Ability to efficiently navigate electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Demonstrates basic computer skills
  • Experience with training and able to adapt to different learning styles to provide a meaningful learning environment.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
