Staff Accountant
26.44-28.84 per hour
The Staff Accountant position is responsible for assisting the finance department in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization. The Staff Accountant understands the overall risk management plan for the organization and is responsible for helping to manage risk to the agency while conducting business. This position will help identify trouble before it occurs and relay this information within the organization. This position supports the agencys mission, vision, goals, and objectives.
As our Staff Accountant you will:
- Verify accuracy of Childrens Village (CV) childcare center financial data entry into Childcare Manager software.
- Assist with Month-end and year-end closing of financial transactions for CV center and agency.
- Bank Reconciliation of CV center checking account
- Process monthly journal entries for CV center financial transactions and provide monthly CV financial reports
- Assist with annual budget preparation and writing of grant proposals related to CV center.
- Maintain billing, reports, audits and reviews for grants, Early Head Start Partnership, and annual CPA audit.
- Maintain verification of Child Care Development Fund (CCDF) vouchers and reporting on AIS state system/support referral entries.
- Verify Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) contract records, monthly billing claim entry, state data base and yearly contract.
- Process financial entries and payments for The Villages of Indiana Foundation, Inc.
Position Requirements:
- Associates degree in accounting, business, or related field
- Three years experience and/or training
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in accounting, business, or related field
- Previous experience in foster care, social services, behavioral health, or clinical setting
