What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian/Housekeeper position at The Villaggio?
We are looking for a responsible candidate to keep our childcare center sparkling clean. It is important for a custodian, to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premise. The ideal candidate will be experienced in cleaning homes or commercial buildings. They will have great physical endurance to cover a large space. A keen eye for detail and diligence are imperative in this custodial job.
Responsibilities
- Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day
- Taking out trash, tidying furniture, dusting surfaces, vents and decorations
- Sweep and mop floors and stairs, vacuum carpets
- Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, diaper changing tables, trash cans and restock supplies (e.g. soap, toilet paper, paper towels, gloves)
- Wipe mirrors, windows, window sills
- Clean and disinfect doors, door handles, walls, baseboards, child proof gates, light switches, etc.
- Clean and disinfect indoor playground equipment (e.g. slides, monkey bars, foam pit, swings, etc.)
- Report major and minor damages
- Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows and setting up the alarm
Skills
- Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role
- Knowledge of use and maintenance of Shark vacuums and Shark steam mops
- Knowledge of cleaning chemical liquids and other hazardous components
- Attention to detail and conscientiousness
- Very good physical condition and strength
- High school diploma is preferred but not required

Flexible schedule. Multiple shifts available:
Monday- Friday
5:00 am - 10:00 am
11:00 am - 4:00 pm
5:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
