Our client is located in Morgan City, LA and looking to add a facilities Technician II to their team to start on a contract basis. This will be a 6-month contract that could have the possibly to be extended/converted to permanent.
- Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.00
- Working Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Rotational on-call support for nights, weekends, and holidays is a requirement of the position.

The Facilities Technician II is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities within the geographic region. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance. The Facilities Technician will serve as a point of contact during emergency situations and assist with the security of our facility grounds, assets, and the service to our employees.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and fixtures.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist in managing inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Support building security efforts and promptly respond to emergencies.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of facility vehicles.
Qualifications / REQUIRED
- 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance
- Possesses general mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of building and utility systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, mechanical blueprints and electrical, and schematics.
- Computer literacy to allow for interface with company and maintenance management systems
- Valid Drivers License with good driving record; Must take and pass an approved Defensive Driving course yearly.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in facilities maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge and experience of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, locksmith, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
