Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) is the master planning, creative development, design, engineering, production, project management, and research and development arm of Disney's Parks and Resorts business segment. The team is part of the larger Design & Master Planning Studio that includes the disciplines of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Theme Lighting Design, Graphic Design, Engineering and Design Management.
We are seeking a collaborative Master Planner Senior talent to support and guide complex and innovative planning efforts across our global portfolio, specifically focused on our Walt Disney World (WDW) and Disney Signature Experiences (DSE) portfolios.

The Master Planner Sr. reports to the Master Planning Executive.
Responsibilities:
- Provide highly specialized subject matter expertise in more than one of the critical master planning practice areas - Land & Urban Design, Strategic Visioning, Geographic & Strategic Data Collection and Management, Pre-Development & Real Estate Development Support
- Support additional master planning practice areas including Government & Community Relations, Sustainability & Environmental Planning, Transportation Planning
- Manage all phases of multiple small sized projects including procurement, scheduling and budget management that are moderate risk. Research and assimilate innovative ideas into more creative projects and efficient ways to accomplish goals; extend innovations at project level, when appropriate, and share results with the MP studio and broader WDI organization
- Guide and perform advanced data analysis, management & visualization
- Research and analyze global, regional and site-specific data and applies findings to master planning strategy
- Synthesize and manage complex data sets to inform multi-variable planning efforts
- Use a strategic, objective and process driven approach to planning and organize information in a methodical way to inform planning decisions
- Leverage knowledge of innovative technology/visualization tools to communicate complex information in compelling ways
- Assist in establishing and implementing the creative/planning direction of a project, preparing site analysis, and making recommendations regarding efficient land use density, organization of project elements, access and other design and planning related issues with periodic input from the Studio leadership (Principal and/or Executive)
- Manage and represent the work of the studio with internal and external organizations including project team, design studios, operations, municipalities, vendors, and contractors
- Articulate and present planning concepts with clarity in a diplomatic and persuasive manner
- Generate, with clarity, correspondence regarding complex issues; prepare reports regarding status of projects
- Provide input on concept and strategy development as part of master planning and real estate business plans
- Work closely with global team members to collaborate, manage, build and maintain all Master Planning databases, tools and graphic information
- Supervise, mentor and support junior staff and interns as applicable
You will have:
- 5 years relevant experience
- Ability to think strategically and understand complex technical and legal issues relating to development
- Ability to understand and translate master planning strategy into actionable recommendations for leaders and teams
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing project scope, direction and deadlines, and collaborate with individuals of diverse background and interest, and consistently meet milestone schedule expectations/deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to graphically communicate and problem solve; via hand and/or digital sketching, model building, digital design, etc.
- General working knowledge and understanding of GIS, and basic ability to use ArcGIS software to produce maps
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, Power Point, and Project and graphic/desktop publishing software to include, Auto Cad, Adobe Suite (specifically Illustrator and Photoshop)
- Ability to learn key project delivery methods while working on a variety of project types and scales
- Organizational skills related to work preparation for self and others, providing a positive work environment to facilitate the completion and execution of work plans and projects
- Basic real estate/development knowledge
- Risk identification and management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience in World-Class Planning, Design & Development projects
- Experience with or education in sustainability and/or climate resiliency
- Knowledge of themed entertainment and Disney brand
- Membership, and active participation, in one or more professional organizations such as AICP, ASLA, ULI, AIA, APA, SARA, NCARB, LEED
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Urban Design, Urban and Regional Planning, Real Estate, Landscape Architecture or Architecture
