The Washington Bus is excited to announce openings for twelve fellows for our upcoming summer season. These part-time, paid internships will span ten weeks and are aimed at all future leaders, college students and otherwise, dedicated to social justice and mobilizing the youth vote. Our mission is to resource and invest in our generation of political leaders and advocates through this program, enhancing their leadership and community organizing skills while offering valuable networking opportunities through our guest speakers and events.
About Us
The Washington Bus is a statewide movement building organization that increases the civic and political access and participation of young people. We focus our resources on empowering young people of color, LGBTQIA youth, first generation college students, and young people from working class and immigrant communities. We activate our generation through voter education, civic participation, and hands-on democracy while working to put the young people most often excluded from the political process at its center.
Our mission at the Bus is focused on these three areas:
- Cultivating the Largest Habitual Youth Voting Bloc – We engage and mobilize young people to build lifelong voting habits, ensuring they become a powerful and consistent force in elections
- Developing the Political Leaders of Today and Tomorrow – We equip young leaders with the skills, experience, and networks they need to drive meaningful political change now and in the future
- Harnessing our Governing Power for Social and Political Systems Change – We leverage our collective influence to shape policies, hold elected officials accountable, and transform systems to advance justice and equity
