Salary Range : $65,000 - $70,000

The Senior Program Manager develops, plans and delivers immersive, tailored fellowships that include paid internship programming. Reporting to the Assistant Director, this position will assist with program conception and planning and be responsible for implementation, participant support, event and session planning, and other broad administrative duties. Moreover, the Senior Program Manager will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to manage programs effectively in accordance with funding agreements and contracts and ensure robust program assessment and evaluation is completed.

The Washington Center is a remote / hybrid organization with many employees working on average one day per week in TWC's Residential and Academic Facility, conveniently located near Union Station and public transportation in the NoMa neighborhood of Washington, DC. Given our organizational mission focus on skills, workforce development and collaboration, there are times where cross-collaboration among teams and departments will require more than one day per week in the office. Further, some programs at TWC do require program staff to work nights and / or weekends. The individual in this role is expected to reside in the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area.

STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT & PROGRAM DESIGN

  • Serve as primary point of contact for funding partners and other clients, leading periodic check-ins with and reporting to partner agencies.
  • Manage all components of program development and design including selection process, internship placement and coordination, session design, room / space reservations, and materials creation and distribution.
  • Design and execute experiential learning including professional development opportunities in consultation with agency partner. Occasional weekend or evening work may be required.
  • Manage program budgets, track and submit program expenses including the vetting of external contractors and contributors, and report budgetary constraints.
  • Supervise program advisor and program coordinator(s)

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT, ASSESSMENT & EVALUATION

  • Mentor and provide consistent feedback to students while they are in program, outlining and monitoring professional development goals, and overall progress.
  • Communicate to students and agency partners TWC policies including financial assistance, program obligations and code of conduct.
  • Assist with internship placement coordination and conduct orientation.
  • Partner with evaluation consultant to develop program specific assessment and evaluation.
  • Compile program evaluations, surveys, and program outcome reports for internal and external audiences
  • Utilize technological tools to increase efficiency and streamline program execution.
  • ADMINISTRATION & OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate closely with the MarCom department to contribute to the execution of a strategic marketing and recruitment plan for federal programs.
  • Lead coordination of selection / referral process to deliver eligible high-quality applicants to federal partners.
  • Support and / or participate in virtual and / or limited recruitment trips at colleges and universities to promote programming opportunities.

  • Required Education and Experience an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered :

  • Master's degree
  • Minimum 5 years' related work experience overseeing externally funded programming
  • Experience managing and leading a high-functioning team
  • Preferred Education / Qualifications and Experience :

  • Experience working with the Federal government and / or with federally funded grants or contracts
  • Practical knowledge of best practices in career readiness education and professional development
  • Experience with project or event management
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities which are critical to the successful performance of the job. These may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with the position :

  • Proficiency in MS Office with strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
