Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented 3D Laser Scan Technician to join our team. This role involves using advanced laser scanning technology to capture high-precision 3D data for construction and engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have experience operating 3D laser scanning or other land surveying equipment, processing scan data, and collaborating with project managers and engineers to ensure accurate documentation of as-built conditions.

Key Responsibilities

· Operate 3D laser scanning equipment (Leica Products) to capture accurate point cloud data of job sites, structures, and facilities.

· Conduct on-site surveying and data collection, ensuring complete and high-quality scans.

· Process, register, and clean point cloud data using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Recap, or Cyclone.

· Convert scan data into usable formats for BIM modeling, CAD drafting, and project documentation.

· Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to deliver detailed as-built models and reports.

· Ensure quality control and accuracy of scanned data before submission.

· Maintain and troubleshoot laser scanning equipment and software.

· Adhere to safety protocols while working on-site.

· Stay up to date with the latest 3D scanning technologies and industry trends.

Qualifications & Skills

· Experience with 3D laser scanning equipment and processing software is a plus

· Experience in construction, architecture, or engineering industries.

· Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Recap, Cyclone, or similar software for scan data integration.

· Knowledge of surveying techniques and CAD drafting.

· Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP plans.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and processing.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

· Excellent communication skills for coordinating with clients and internal teams.

· Physical ability to perform on-site scanning, including lifting and transporting equipment.

· Must have a reliable form of transportation. Although you will be required to use your personal vehicle, most of our jobs are local and all mileage will be compensated.
