Position Summary & Primary Responsibilities: The Kitchen Assistant provides hands-on food preparation and production of ingredients for high quality culinary dishes. Our commitment to the highest level of hospitality creates a need for uncompromising cleanliness, neatness, high quality dishes and customer service. Our restaurant and café function in a similar way to a hotel or private club restaurant and/or café.
- Assists culinary team in daily kitchen operations: food preparation and production, cooking, serving and cleaning under the direction of the Director of Culinary Services
- Prepares recipes utilizing appropriate ingredients to ensure a fine dining experience for residents and guests
- Adheres to established standards of food quality, appearance, and presentation at all times
- Works as a team with the other kitchen staff, overlapping responsibilities to ensure exceptional service to residents and guests (i.e.; serving meals, dish washing, etc.)
- Meets organizational and regulatory expectations, including sanitation, food preparation, menus, nutrition, and documentation
- Adheres to strict safety and sanitation guidelines
- Provides and serves special diets correctly per our Policy and Procedure
Education & Experience
- 1 year food preparation or serving experience in a restaurant/senior living or equivalent experience preferred
- Must be 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
