What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at The Way Back, Inc.?
The Human Resources Generalist performs professional human resource work in the areas of employee recruitment and selection, overseeing Agency policies/procedures, compliance with labor regulations, maintaining personnel records and processing payroll. Incumbent exercises initiative and independent judgment in the performance of tasks.
Essential Functions:
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:
Full Cycle Recruitment- through various resources which includes online advertising, internal postings and relations with local colleges and Organizations.
Payroll- Review time sheets for accuracy, process and submit payroll through electronic Paychex System. Monitor accruals, pay changes and other payroll updates.
Staff Training- New Hire Orientation, HIPAA, OSHA, Sexual Harassment, CPR/First Aid, etc.
Maintain Records- HRIS Database and personnel files
Coordinate Coverage- Assist with coordinating coverage for vacant positions and other leaves as needed
Hours: Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm (40 hrs.)
Location: Port Jefferson, NY

Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related field
Experience with NYS OMH or CBC preferred
Valid Drivers License
Must successfully complete fingerprinting as required by the NYS Office of Mental Health.
