SUMMARY
The Assistant Dean of Students is charged with overseeing student life during The Webb Schools Summer Programs. This involves working with faculty, residential staff, and the Director of Experiential Learning to manage the residential, afternoon, and evening programs. The Assistant Dean will support the Dean of Students in overseeing student health and safety and coordinating the residential staff. The Assistant Dean of Students will collaborate with other summer school faculty and residential staff to create and maintain a fun and collaborative learning environment for students. All faculty members who work at The Webb Schools are expected to contribute positively and productively to a campus community that promotes the development of honor, leadership, and service.

RELATIONSHIPS
The Assistant Dean of Students reports to the Dean of Students and must work closely with the Director of Experiential Learning, summer fellows, and summer school faculty and staff to help create a positive and safe environment for learning and discovery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Assisting Dean of Students in developing and overseeing an afternoon, evening, and weekend, residential program that fosters community and ensures student health, wellness, and safety.
- Assisting Dean of Students in the supervision of the afternoon program.
- Assisting Dean of Students in the supervision of the evening and weekend schedule and daily operations; the majority of the Assistant Dean’s work will take place after the academic day ends at 3 : 00 pm, though they will also be responsible for helping to set up for each afternoon and evenings’ activities.
- Collaborating with Summer Fellows to orchestrate meaningful, safe, fun, and inclusive evening activities in the dorms.
- Communicating with other school departments about residential needs.
- Substituting in the academic program.
- Managing the collecting and organizing of Summer Program photos
- Working on-site before and during the program; the approximate time frame for the position is June 24-July 30, with some work needing completion during May and June of 2025.
- Promoting the development of honor, character, and leadership in all dealings with students, including enforcing school rules
- Other duties as assigned
PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES OF WEBB FACULTY & STAFF
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
The Assistant Dean of Students has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required. Experience with residential programs, boarding schools, and student life preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
A current CA driver's license and clean motor vehicle record is required. A criminal background check is required and must be successfully completed before employment can begin.
OTHER SKILLS
Able to communicate effectively with students, parents, faculty, staff, and administrators.

COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHY
Anticipated salary range : $4,000 - $4,500. Salary will be dependent on the level of experience.
