Sr. Back-End Developer

Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Back-End Developer with a strong emphasis on security posture to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of backend development, experience in maintaining and improving security measures, and the ability to work collaboratively in an agile environment. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our data is effectively connected to frontend applications and processed efficiently. You will utilize best practices to build well-structured applications that enhance our ability to resolve issues quickly and maintain robust system performance.

Key Responsibilities of the Position

• Design, develop, maintain and optimize robust APIs to facilitate seamless data exchange between the backend and frontend applications.
• Manage and optimize databases to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and processing.
• Collaborate with the team to design and implement scalable system architectures that support current and future needs.
• Implement robust security measures; including, but not limited to data encryption, authentication, and authorization protocols.
• Follow established coding standards and best practices to ensure clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Participate in code reviews.
• Monitor and optimize application performance, ensuring fast response times and minimal downtime.
• Quickly identify and resolve backend issues, working to improve system reliability and performance.
• Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of backend processes, APIs, and system architecture.
• Work closely with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration of applications and data flow.
• Lead as needed and participate in security assessments and audits, identifying vulnerabilities and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
• Stay updated on the latest security trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Ability to receive and provide constructive feedback to peers and consultants.

Requirements

Qualifications of the Position 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Back-End Developer, with a strong portfolio of web applications.
• Strong experience working in an agile environment, with focus on security.
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks).
• Proficiency in server-side programming languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, Ruby, Java).
• Strong understanding of database management systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and development.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile development methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Dockers, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of      microservices architecture and RESTful API design.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security ).
• Familiarity with penetration testing and load testing tools and techniques.
