What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Technician position at The Wellness Factory?
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for monitoring the equipment, production line, weighing activities, and testing the products to ensure that they meet the required specifications. This includes testing the raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products, and maintaining batch records with compliance to good manufacturing practices (cGMP) as well as FDA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Take in-process readings, weights, and measurements during production
- Inspect raw materials and their certificates of analysis (CoA)
- Collect samples for retains or third-party testing
- Collect environmental samples to ensure a controlled manufacturing environment
- Ensure that products meet the required specifications
- Investigate and resolve quality issues
- Maintain accurate records of test results
- Verify production staff activities ensuring that specifications are met
- Perform equipment calibration verifications
- Assist with Quality Assurance activities
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a relevant field, such as life sciences, industrial engineering; or equivalent professional experience
- 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, food, or supplement industry preferred
- Strong understanding of GMP, preferably 21 CFR 111
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to walk for 6 hours of the day.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to think critically and solve problems
Skills
- Knowledge of GMP regulations
- Knowledge of analytical testing methods
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation
- Ability to use laboratory equipment
- Ability to write clear and concise reports
