The Lead Engineer - Solutions will develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy applications in cloud. Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle for solutioning, planning, developing, and testing of cloud applications by partnering with internal and external teams.  This anchor position is one that requires deep technical understanding (likely from software engineering past roles). This role is poly-cloud, with understanding of infra-as-code patterns and tools (such as Terraform).  The ideal candidate is expected to have a deeper understanding and working knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and preferably around Oracle Integrations and SaaS (ERP, EPM, HCM) or similar solutions SAP, Workday, etc. There should be an understanding of 12-Factor microservice patterns, stateless vs. stateful applications, database and data estate technologies, modern cloud tooling and techniques. This candidate will drive technical projects into existing codebases (refactoring/additive functionality) as well as creating new software frameworks and proofs-of-concept.  The candidate is expected to have some Automation background for future automation projects. The ideal candidate will be T-shaped in skillset: broad across many disciplines, but deep in one or two areas, preferably software engineering and/or data. 

• Adapts and executes all technical aspects of the Oracle Cloud platform including:  
  • Work to scope and execute any onboarding of new technical objects/integrations.  
  • Transitions to new platforms (develop/configure/test) 
  • Resolve roadblocks for other team members  
  • Work with IT vendor partners to ensure services/solutions operate effectively 
• Operates independently, and with full confidence, to plan and facilitate cross-functional workshops and inceptions.  From these workshops, establish business-based reasons for change that mobilizes others to adopt new technical processes that more effectively and rapidly deliver growth to improve Wendy’s competitive differentiation.  
• Acts as a source of direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff. Mentors engineers, development team, and other IT staff by providing guidance and expertise that drives and supports intelligent decision-making and risk taking to improve the agility, quality, scalability, and business value of technologies.  
• Acts as primary technology “go-to” person for techniques, patterns, and practices. Pairs with junior folks to guide technical “how-to’s” to solve technical problems. 
• Plan, design, and execute all 4 phases of Cloud Migrations (On-Prem to Cloud and Cross-Cloud Migrations). Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to developer teams to build their cloud competencies.  
• Designs and develops/implements systems/services which ensure high system availability and maximizes usage of all Information Technology resources and follow IT standards. Ensures timely delivery of new capabilities.  
• Ensures efficient functioning of cloud environments in accordance with company policies and best practices in cloud security. 
• Develops detailed technical work plans with estimated tasks and labor hours, monitors progress of project and reports status to management. Adheres to all IT methodology standards.  

• Education: ​Bachelor’s degree​, preferably in Computer Science or Management Information Systems, preferred
• Strong knowledge of Cloud Computing including Oracle Cloud and Google Cloud 
• 10 years of software engineering experience or experience in a related field 
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Microservices, Containerization 
• Prior experience in Cloud Migration projects 
• Understanding of Cloud Security including API Security 
• Experience with CI/CD systems. 
• Cloud Certification on AWS or GCP or Oracle Cloud 
• Strong communication and analytical skills. 
• Strong documentation skills

The base pay range for this position is listed below. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors.  This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position. *  The target annual bonus for this role is 20% of annualized base salary, based on actual company and personal performance.

Salary : $115,000 - $175,000
