The Wesson Group, LLC., is expanding and looking for an addition to our tight-knit team. We are a general contractor headquartered in Johnstown, NY with a primary focus in renewable energy and civil infrastructure projects located throughout Western, Central, and Northern NY. We currently are seeking a Project Manager with a background in self-performed heavy and highway construction to join our family of dedicated and hard-working professionals.
Responsibilities Briefly Described
· Preview projects and project sites before work begins to determine safety related risks.
· Visit active site locations to assess ongoing work conditions to ensure compliance.
· Work with project management teams and field staff to develop and implement solutions to safety related issues on project sites.
· Maintaining safety related paperwork including permits.
· Maintaining safety training certifications and matrix of site personnel.
· Training company employees on safe work practices.
· Ensure compliance with all safety practices and protocols of employees and subcontractors.

Skills and Qualifications
· CSP Certification is preferred.
· Good communications skills – the ability to communicate effectively both in the written and spoken word.
· Ability to listen – the ability to listen well and take in feedback from the employee perspective without passing judgment.
· Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations pertaining to the specific trade or activity being managed.
· Good recordkeeping abilities – the Site Safety Manager must be able to maintain good records of all safety related activities.
· Ability to access all work locations. A significant amount of construction work takes place on rough terrain ground level which require the Site Safety Manager to be able to access the work to evaluate it.
· Knowledge of the specific skilled trade or type of work. This assists the Site Safety Manager in being able to design and implement solutions for the company.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc..)
