Instructional Designer

We are searching for an experienced Instructional Designer (Hybrid) . This position will have the ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site at our Headquarters facility in Tuscaloosa, AL as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.


We are seeking a talented and adaptable Instructional Designer to join our team on a temporary basis (potential to extend long term) during a critical period of organizational transformation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact by helping to establish our talent development infrastructure, support strategy implementation, and maintain high-quality training support for our evolving business needs.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

-Support strategic initiatives and projects, playing an active role in project plans, slide deck creation, and operational efforts.

-Support establishing and documenting best practices and standards for talent development within the organization.

-Create learning objectives, design documents, storyboards, and other learning design deliverables.

-Enter and track training delivery, learner attendance, and run reports from Cornerstone Learning Management System (LMS).

-Publish digital courses to the LMS. Apply necessary settings to the course to share required information with Cornerstone LMS system.

-Work collaboratively with training staff, subject-matter experts, and other staff members to design, develop, and evaluate effective digital courses using Articulate Storyline 360.

-Test and debug deliverables for quality assurance.

-Contribute to the development of a comprehensive talent development framework.

-Manage work assignments, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

-Provide instructional design support, recommending appropriate tools and course design structure.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3 plus years of experience in instructional design, preferably in a corporate or organizational setting
  • Experience with graphic design and video editing (Camtasia) preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including TEAMS
  • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and administering learning management systems (Cornerstone preferred)
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a dynamic environment
