What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet Houseman position at The Westin Princeton at Forrestal Village?
Position Summary: The Banquet Houseaide is responsible for efficiently setting up all the needed items in a banquet room for all functions. Also responsible for daily maintenance/cleanliness of all banquet rooms and storage areas.
Core Responsibilities:
- Completely and efficiently clean and set up all function rooms according to customer specifications on event order.
- Assure that all audio/visual equipment is accurately set up and functioning properly (if applicable to property). Communicate any issues to AV Company.
- Completely and efficiently clean all rolling carts, bus stands, light fixtures, vents, podiums, projection equipment, etc.
- Vacuum and shampoo carpet, dust walls and dividers and mop service area when needed.
- Return electrical equipment to banquet storage facility at the end of the day. Maintain a clean storage facility at all times.
- Promptly remove bus pans from function areas when full.
- Return soiled linen to the Housekeeping Department and rotate linen supply.
- Break down all equipment, props and food once function is completed.
- Other duties as assigned, specifically related to banquet and food and beverage events.

- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate with guests and associates.
- High work ethic and self-initiative
- Regular attendance according to established guidelines
- May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property
- Must possess basic computational ability
- Focus and maintain attention to tasks, and complete work assignments on time despite frequent interruptions
- Ability to maintain excellent relationships with staff and maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times
Physical Requirements:
- Stand and walk for varying lengths of time, often for long periods.
- Lift approximately fifty (50) pounds, such as trays, tables, dishes, etc.
- Read and interpret BEO’s to understand and verify room set up and menu served.
- Twist, bend, stoop, walk, stand, lift and reach in order to handle and move tables, chairs and other equipment.
- Grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, pulling, pushing, listening and hearing ability and visual ability
