JOB STATUS: INDIVIDUAL CONTRACTOR
REPORTS TO: Program Director
LOCATION: Hybrid (Remote and/or Onsite; onsite preferred)
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
This role will meet with patients and evaluate their behavior by asking questions and administering psychological tests and completing an assessment. This role will determine the possible causes of disordered behavior, decide if a patient could benefit from medication and explain the process of starting a new psychiatric medication. This role will closely observe the progress of their patients to determine the impact of different treatments and make adjustments. This role will be providing services to children & adolescents.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Able to communicate by email via Outlook
- Proficient with conducting virtual sessions via electronic platform (i.e., Doxy.me)
- Proficient in use of electronic prescribing systems (i.e., RxNT)
- Bilingual preferred (Spanish and English)
- Comfortable with use of electronic health record system (i.e., Exym)
- Maintain accountability with licensing requirements
- Able to obtain their own supervision
- Use a variety of methods to evaluate a patient, such as interviewing the patient, their family or other persons.
- Develop a treatment plan according to the needs of the patient’s needs and extent of emotional, social, cognitive, developmental, or behavioral disorder.
- Treat a patient using psychotherapeutic methods and medication, monitoring the effects of any medication and adjusting treatment where necessary.
- Consult with the patient’s Primary Care Physician, Nurses, or other health care providers.
- Provide crisis intervention when needed.
- Write and maintain patient and clinical records, including the type of treatment and medication administered.
- Keep up-to-date with professional job knowledge by reading publications, attending educational conferences or maintaining professional networks.
- Follow ethical and legal policies, procedures and standards.
- Performs medical work in the medical field of psychiatry.
- Conducts training or assists in the training of interns and resident physicians.
- Performs or assists in carrying out administrative responsibilities which may include such duties as budget preparation for the section, determining equipment and supply needs, carrying out personnel functions, or developing revising work procedures to expedite work load or improve level of service.
- Assists in the planning and direction of health programs in the field of psychiatry.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Be licensed by the State of California, and in good standing, to provide psychiatric services- California State Physician and Surgeon's license authorized by the Board of Medical Examiners of the State of California
- Completion of a residency approved by an American Specialty Board in psychiatry
JOB STATUS: Full-time, Part-Time, Contract (minimum of 8 hours a week)
