Research Assistant – Zhou Lab

The Wistar Institute has an opening for a Research Assistant to join the laboratory of Dr. Xiaoyu Zhou to perform a wide variety of experiments, including T cell engineering, gene editing, CRISPR screening, in vitro cell culture, and in vivo testing of novel therapies directed against cancers in mouse models. The job duties also include lab management responsibilities such as maintaining inventory, ordering supplies and support of lab operations. The Zhou lab investigates intercellular immune communications through a combination of synthetic receptor engineering and endogenous gene perturbations, with the goal of developing innovative immunotherapies against cancer and infectious diseases. A bachelor’s degree in a science-related field (or equivalent experience) is required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional communications skills as they will be trained by and work directly with the principal investigator, as well as exhibit a keen enthusiasm for scientific inquiry. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in molecular cloning, cell culture techniques and assays.
