Summary of Duties: Operates multi-line telephone system, directs callers to appropriate personnel, and assists all walk-in traffic and assists the Recreation Superintendent and the Recreation Program Coordinator by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Welcome and assist visitors or direct them to the appropriate staff member.
- Answer phones, assist walk-up customers, make reservations, and take program registration.
- Issue refunds and credits for programs/ reservations as instructed through supervisory staff.
- Assist with communications through registration software and by phone of program updates and class cancellations.
- Assist with registration software issues, customer accounts and delinquent accounts.
- Responsible for money handling, cash reports and deposits.
- Provide information on programs, activities, and events in person, by phone and at marketing booths.
- Ensure office and facility have supplies needed for daily operations.
- Ensure facility supplies are properly stored and organized.
- Assist in sanitizing recreational equipment and general facility cleaning as warranted.
- Provide facility and campus walk throughs and report any unusual activity or damage to facility.
- Perform facility opening and closing procedures, such as ensuring the facility is secure, rooms are set-up and break-down for programs, equipment is picked-up etc.
- Assist with recreation programs, activities, special projects, and events as required.
- Development of program fliers and facility posters tri-annually in conjunction with the Action Guide Schedule.
- Track inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department.
- Receives and sorts the mail.
- Take payments and issue permits for park pavilion, pools, fields, recreation centers, tennis courts and athletics courts.
- Assist callers and walk in traffic with program and membership registration.
- Maintain various logs of information.
- Assist with inputting athletic league scores.
- Assist with program data entry in registration software.
- Notify scholarship recipients of scholarship.
- May be required to work special events on nights, weekends, or holidays.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Set-up and breakdown of all aspects of the program are frequently required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions.
Early mornings, late evenings and weekend hours are expected. Schedule varies according to assigned events and programs.
Satisfactory: Occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Occasional outside work and little physical effort is required.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education: Associate Degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school.
Experience: Three (3) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Must possess or obtain within the first ninety (90) days of employment a valid Texas driver's license and meet the driver safety policy requirements.
- First Aid and CPR Training are preferred.
