Our team is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to join our growing Dermatology & Facial Plastic Surgery practice. The person in this position is part of the team concept in The Woodruff Institute’s health delivery system, which is devoted to the delivery of the highest quality dermatologic and aesthetic care in an outpatient clinical setting, with emphases on personalized, quality care in an elegant environment.
Medical Receptionists attend to patients on the phone and in person. They are responsible to coordinate and organize appointments and documentation to facilitate the smooth operation of the healthcare environment and support delivery of quality patient care.
Essential Functions

Very fast-paced environment. This is a primarily sedentary position requiring long periods of sitting. May require some standing, stretching, and leaning.
Physical demands
This position requires long periods of sitting and looking directly at an active computer monitor.

There may be limited local travel between locations based on assignment or business needs.
Required Education And Experience
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and provide the necessary documents of identification and authorization.

Essential Functions

- Welcome and greet all patients and visitors, in person or over the phones
- Answer the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette.
- Maintain an inviting waiting area for patients and visitors. Responsible for keeping the reception area clean and organized. Ensure refrigerators are well stocked with water and sodas. Turn on/off all lights in waiting and foyer areas.
- Register new patients and update existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information including personal and financial information
- Facilitate patient flow by notifying the provider of patients' arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff
- Respond to patients', prospective patients, and visitor inquiries in a courteous manner
- Keep medical office supplies adequately stocked by anticipating inventory needs, placing orders, verifying receipt of supplies, monitoring office equipment, and scheduling equipment service and repairs.
- Protects patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA rules
- Provide necessary information to patients regarding the treatment services offered in the practice, including medical services and skin care products, and entertain a variety of queries personally or by telephone.
- Take accurate messages and promptly send to appropriate staff member
- Obtain revenue by recording and updating financial information; accurately recording and collecting patient charges and payments
- Help patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
- HARD SKILLS:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with medical scheduling and electronic medical records software
- SOFT SKILLS:
- Extreme Customer Service Focus
- Ability to multi-task

Required Education And Experience
- High School diploma or GED required
- Customer Service experience
- One-three years as a Medical Receptionist
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records and Medical Scheduling software
- Ability to speak, read and write English.
