Live-In South Campus
Mission:
The Woodstock Academy strives to provide an exemplary residential life experience for the boarding population. This residential
experience serves as an educational opportunity outside of the classroom and is designed to teach life skills that will assist
students in their future and throughout their lives. Our aim is to provide a communal living experience that teaches tolerance,
creates an understanding and value for diversity, and builds various interpersonal skills.
Residential Life Staff Responsibilities:
As a member of the community, Residential Life staff are responsible for providing supervision and support of all students living
on South Campus. As an Academy with a boarding component, The Woodstock Academy must provide around-the-clock care,
support, and supervision of its residential students. By living in the dormitories, all Residential Life staff recognize that they may
be called upon and available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Communication, responsibility, professionalism, and presence are
necessary to be successful in this role.
Expectations for Dorm Parentings & Duty Responsibilities:
As a member of the Residential Life staff on the South Campus, there are two major roles in the community: dorm parent and
duty team member. The role of dorm parent is both dynamic and diverse and requires staff to be regularly present for students.
This will include off hours and times separate from required duty shifts. The second major role is being a member of a duty team.
Each staff member will be placed on a duty team and serving on weekdays, weekends, and holiday teams as determined by the
Assistant Head and Director of Residential Life. While on duty, staff will have to fulfill several supervisory roles on campus and
act as the team that manages the South Campus. If there are any further questions, please see the Director of Residential Life or
