Summary
As the Purchasing Manager at The Woodworks, you will oversee the procurement process and manage specific inventory for each of our custom millwork projects. This role is vital to our mission of delivering high-quality products on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Review shop drawings of every project and conduct a materials take-off.
- Issue all purchase orders for needed materials of each project.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality materials are sourced effectively.
- Oversee all stock inventory to maintain appropriate levels for ongoing business.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers and production teams to forecast material needs.
- Monitor supply chain logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Analyze market trends to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in procurement management or purchasing roles, preferably in the construction or millwork industry.
- Proficient in reading construction drawings.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control and supply chain management principles.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiations.
- Ability to analyze data and market trends for informed decision-making.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple projects.
