The Wooten Company’s Raleigh, NC headquarters is seeking a team-focused, innovative Electrical Designer with at least 5 years of experience to join our Building Systems Division.
What will you be doing? Candidates can expect to work on innovative projects and utilize sustainable design practices. The person in this role can make a significant impact in their local community by supporting our clients as they carry out their mission and their business. With a diverse offering of project types, this person can expect to work on projects such as educational facilities (such as K-12 and higher education), industrial and governmental facilities, water/ wastewater treatment plant design, and standby power systems.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Generate electrical design/ construction drawings utilizing REVIT and AutoCAD
- Electrical distribution, lighting, and low-voltage systems design
- Prepare design computations and assessments, performs technical evaluations and reports under the guidance of a senior engineer
- Working on a project team with other professionals and directing design staff
- Working with regional offices in NC and SC
- Ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team
- Must be able to work independently and drive project through all phases
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree with emphasis on Engineering or equivalent industry experience
- A history of project design experience in the Engineering and Architectural industry
- Excellent skills and proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- AutoCAD / Revit / BIM experience required
- Designing building systems for commercial, institutional, governmental, healthcare facilities
- Fire Alarm Design
- Data network and communication system design
- Knowledgeable in NEC, IBC, NFPA and building codes and editing technical specifications is a plus
- Familiarity or experience with water / wastewater industry is a plus
